I just finished a novel based on the year I turned 13 and nearly died at the hands of men several times. It’s half told from the perspective of my soul, who reveals the harm done across time to men in the scenarios.
You and I are on the same wavelength of Love. It’s especially difficult to see those who wield extreme power, and perpetuate the status mythos (that you so brilliantly point out) with love. Yet I fiercely believe that everyone is worthy of it. Well done, Sir. Carry on, facing the dark, and shining a light on it.
Wow. I can only imagine how difficult there must’ve been to put in words. I hope it brought some catharsis. And I hope it helps others understand both your suffering, and to know that they’re not alone in theirs.
Thank you so much for the words of support. It means the world. I wish you so much love and healing.
Thank you, Aaron. It became a very deep calling that I could no longer refuse. My soul kept telling me “this is the one, you need to write this.” And pieces like yours affirm how important it is that we share our stories. With the additional insight and perspective of a higher self— it’s not trauma porn, it’s trauma healing ❤️🩹
Curiously my young self was fascinated with the dark side of human nature, witch hunts, serial killers, etc. It’s in my novel. I believe you and I share this - among the many who cannot look away, because that dark side of human nature wants us to look. To be willing to explore the big questions, why?
I feel this feeling… I’ve documented my experiences…I’ve pondered the instincts, I’ve learned to trust them and shape them as I raised two men, strived for respectful partnership in marriage.shaped my career, and endured Long COVID. My mind and heart gravitate to the vulnerable and my alert system is fine tuned. To feel it is painful and to wield it is Trust. The last 10 years, I’ve been connected to women and girls with mutual devastating realities about this culture we know deep in our bones.
You're the greatest, Aaron. I had never heard of either Motherless or of the Online Rape Academy. Obviously they should both be taken down. Their existence is appalling but unsurprising. Members of our species are capable of tremendous, crazy good - and of extraordinary, vile evil.
Whatever happened to hate speech being illegal? It should absolutely NOT be protected by the First Amendment. Why protect evil? Porn that glorifies rape is not porn; it's hate speech.
