You are reading The Everyday Mystic: Wisdom and Inspiration for Your Spiritual Journey. This daily(ish) newsletter is (mostly) free, but if you'd like to show your support, a tip will help me continue the hard work behind these creative efforts; "Buy me a coffee" by clicking the link below.
Also, I’ll return the favor by sending you a free copy of my book of mystical poetry - At the Intersection of Strength and Light. - as a token of my gratitude!
I long...
to kiss your sweet, supple lips
to drink in your essence
to hold,
and be held,
in your tender embrace.
It’s never enough.
The wise say absence makes the heart grow fonder
The wiser say it makes the heart what it is.
The wisest say there is no absence.
The friend
comes to the mystic
in little drabs and dribbles,
fleeting glimpses of ecstasy.
The gift IS the wanting
the desire, the teasing
the tantalizing allure of that bliss
that lasts for more than a moment
that endures.
The foolish will turn to the things of the world -
substances, rituals, potions -
They will become addicted to the feeling of the senses
the mechanistic interplay of chemistry and biology,
the dopamine rush, the endorphins, the oxytocin, and other such phantoms
and see that as salvation.
The master knows:
All knowing comes from within.
All learning is of the Self.
All healing is of the spirit.
Thanks for reading, My dear friend!!!
