I talk about this subject a lot. And I’ll Keep talking about it — because it’s that important.
I read this post on Substack from a new friend and it reminded me of the above poem. (With a bit of an ironic title when viewed in relation to a woman who talks a lot about the divine feminine!)
She had a rough weekend, celebrating Mother’s Day with her ailing mother. Then she woke up on Monday, dropped her son off at school, and was ready to kick off her weekend with her daily devotions.
But first, she called her mother to wish her a Happy Birthday, which would have been a quick conversation. Only she didn’t answer. So you called her sister and got pulled into a much lengthier conversation.
And in an instant, her plans changed, just like that.
She had to compress her meditation, and get into it after her “day had started”, instead of using it to “get in the right frame of mind”.
I experienced a somewhat similar thing last Monday. And while you may find my woes trivial, (and by the way I totally agree with you) I think they illustrate the point perfectly.
