Sitting ramrod-straight in bed
I floated into a waking nightmare-dream
Where the whole wide world had packed itself
into a single supercharged bus,
The color of cancerous growth
And shadow phantom money.
Rocketing down a wild, winding mountain highway
paved with pretty, Silver-Tongued lies.
Careening out of control.
And a giant wall
Built of brick, broken promises and
Unpayable debts
Could be spotted in the
Stormcloud-darkened distance.
Far away, but visible.
Looming larger as we sped its way.
And I watch in growing horror
From among the distracted masses
Their entranced zombie eyes fixed on nothing
Doomscrolling the latest celebrity gossip
on their AI-Enabled
XL27 plus max super-duper-smart phones
As the crazed-eyed driver
Wearing a 3-piece, Pierre Cardin
Impeccably-tailored suit
Has just mashed the accelerator
Through the floor.
Last night, I found myself staying up well past my bedtime, fully engrossed in a movie I stumbled upon on one of our many streaming services. (Okay full disclosure. Amazon Prime - I know," Bad" Resistor!)
The movie was Zeitgeist: Moving Forward - a movie filmed in 2007 that clearly lays out how the entire system of labor and capital that we have based our whole civilization on is essentially a massive house of cards, built on quicksand, and we are unknowingly awaiting its inevitable toppling over and sinking into oblivion.
The creators of the film posit that the collapse is unavoidable in the current system. And the only resolution may be in world-wide revolution, with the creation of an entirely new system of trade, firmly rooted in and reflective of our planet’s dwindling resources.
Now, nearly twenty years later, we have done precious little to prevent any of the dire predictions they give from coming true.
And now with a regime hell-bent on eradicating any of the meager progress we have made, the metaphor I use here of a speeding bus careening out of control seems a fitting comparison for the mess we find ourselves in.
As we draw closer to that inevitable tumbling down of these institutions, the human suffering and damage to the only home we have ever known grows exponentially greater, as we suck the planet dry of every resource it possesses. Never realizing we have become slaves to our own insatiable greed and ever-present, irrepressible need for unending growth.
The last exit ramp is fast approaching
The question is-
do we take the turn in time?
or not?
Wait! Before you go - a quick message.
Nothing has been as powerful a source of transformation in my life as A Course in Miracles.
Nothing has brought me more peace, greater understanding, or deeper joy than following its guidance.
Inspired by its words, I have created a series of poems and lessons of my own to go along with the lessons in the course.
You can find everything I’ve published so far on this page:

I hope that they will inspire you to pick it up for the first time, or to pick it up again and make the real commitment to it that you have been unwilling to do up until now.
And, if you are a devotee of the course, to bring you to finding new insights and opening up yourself even further to its unfailing message:
LOVE is all there is.
Namaste 🙏 ❤️
