This Love
Only this love is real.
Only the love you shared from your heart
was the only feeling you ever did feel.
This forgiveness
Only forgiveness saves.
Only it can lift you from that darkened pit,
release your need to be so brave.
This thought
This thought that you would hold
This thought which carries such gravitas,
But has only kept you in the cold.
This peace
This peace that you have sought
Comes only to the one who is still -
never to be bargained for or bought.
This hand
This hand that I hold out to you.
This hand that you now see.
Take my hand and walk in Love
and together, shall we be free.
Lesson 10 - My Thoughts Do Not Mean Anything
Only the love was real.
Only the love you gave.
Only the love you received.
Only the love you shared.
Only that was real.
Only that was ever real.
Only the Love.
If you’ve been following the series, you may hear in today’s lesson echoes of the message of Lesson 4. It’s not your imagination. It very much does so, only substituting “My Thoughts” in place of “These Thoughts.”
This is a subtle but important distinction. It indicates a shift in perception - going from the external now into the internal. Questioning what is going on inside the mind, not outside of it.
As we said in that earlier lesson, when you are thinking about illusions, you are thinking of nothing, and thus are not thinking. And a mind that thinks of nothing must be blank.
It is the recognition of this that is required for vision.
Your thoughts do not mean anything. They are not your real thoughts.
They are imaginations of a lost, confused and searching mind. They are thoughts about illusions, about fantasies, about nothing.
Only the Love is real.
Only the Love.
The day before this lesson we encountered a serious problem in our household.
After serving us faithfully for some 12-15 years, our washing machine has been on the fritz lately. And yesterday, I feared it might have finally given up the ghost.
After receiving multiple error messages, I had to cut off the water to it when it continued to keep filling - even after the wash and rinse cycle were over.
A couple of months ago, we paid several hundred dollars to have the same machine cleaned out after a different set of error codes. Due to the tight location and the nature of the repair, combined with the noise of four very loud dogs, it was a real pain in the neck, to say the least. For me, as well as the repairman.
So needless to say I was apprehensive about placing another phone call to Mario, our repairman, (if you’re in the Chattanooga Area, and need some repairs done - I’ll be happy to send you his contact info! Great guy!) and found myself wanting to put it off.
And as you might expect, the thought of those anticipated unpleasant phone calls found its way into the day's sessions, playing a prominent role in them.
As it turned out in the end, the problem was that a spring had worn out in the actuator that opens and closes a valve to let the water in and to stop it. Resulting in the valve staying open when it shouldn't be.
We briefly considered replacing the unit, but couldn't find a machine that we liked, and with the low-ish cost of the repair, (nothing is low is that world!) compared to the very high cost of a replacement, and the 90 dollars we were already in from the service call, we opted to go ahead with the repair. It was done with minimal hassle, and things are now basically back to normal.
My question for you is this - How often do you do like I do and jump to that "worst-case scenario?" How often do you look at the past experiences that you found negative and imagine more of the same?
And equally as unfortunate, how often do you look to the past events you saw as positive, and imagine that you were" lucky", and that lucky "streak" can't last. Then things go poorly, and you consider it as proof that you were right?
Your thoughts mean nothing.
Each can be a burden to carry or an opportunity to grow.
In truth, they are only opportunities.
Opportunities to see the error of your ways.
Opportunities to see things a different way.
Opportunities to choose a new path.
Opportunities to create a new reality.
Thank you so much for reading!
